Job Description

Huckberry is looking for a technical design professional with a well-trained eye who can identify fit and construction issues; understand shape, and garment proportions; provide effective fit solutions; and drive approval processes seasonally. The ideal candidate exhibits agility to support ongoing brand innovation and to remain competitive. Your experience in benchmarking and research analysis to elevate existing standards and develop new fit directions adds value.

*Please note this is a contract position, with potential to go full time

Responsibilities

  • Must be in-person/onsite in Austin TX
  • Articulate creative design and fit elements into technical spec sheets from the initial phase of block development, stages of fit execution to final fit approvals
  • Ensure fit consistency and maintaining product quality standards across all product categories
  • Deliver and maintain premium clothing workmanship throughout each product category
  • Lead weekly fit sessions on 'live' fit models in a group setting
  • Steam samples to prepare for live fittings
  • Organizing fit sample library
  • Shipping TOPs for photoshoots
  • Filing, organizing and data entry
  • Experience measuring samples and sending vendor comments

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work 32-40 hours per week
  • A minimum 1-5 years of Technical Design experience, preferably in Menswear
  • Proactive and able to identify and communicate fit issues; can provide directive solutions
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining spec sheets, measurement charts, grading and sketch/construction updates all within our PLM system.
  • Experience with both knit and woven fabrics - tops, bottoms, sweaters and outerwear product categories
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, Excel, Slack and Zoom
  • Experience in product creation process and T&A Calendar, time-sensitive and able to multi-task priorities to sustain final deliveries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in communication, in writing, in person, and with a diversified team, digitally and virtually
