Technical Documentation Writer
Job Description
A global software development company is looking for a talented Technical Documentation Manager to join their growing team. 
The company is creating a world’s most trusted route optimization software for last mile optimization. They help any businesses visit, coordinate, optimize, and dispatch people to multiple physical locations per day using route optimization, mapping, navigation, and much more.
As a Technical Documentation manager, you will manage the entire process of creating and maintaining customer-facing technical documentation for company’s software, as well as internal team-specific and company-wide documentation.
Responsibilities:Â
- Create, maintain, and improve comprehensive, user-friendly, and SEO-optimized customer-facing technical documentation and user guides for company’s software.
- Develop and update internal documentation and guides for team-specific and company-wide workflows, policies, and procedures.
- Effectively communicate across multiple teams to collect documentation requirements, user and business use cases, software knowledge, and other information required for creating high-quality documentation and guides.
- Test and use company’s software to confirm feature requirements, replicate user workflows and use cases, and create screenshots to develop the corresponding public and internal technical documentation and guides.
- SEO-optimize the public content using SEO best practices, industry standards, and software to improve Google rankings and enhance market presence and authority.
- Manage the entire documentation creation and maintenance process: create and complete sprints, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, keep track of software UI and functionality updates, collaborate with other technical writers, etc.
Qualifications: - Expert writing skills: technical writing, copywriting, editing, and proofreading with extreme attention to detail.
- Technical writing experience: writing technical documentation, support documentation, user manuals, and user guides for SaaS and IoT businesses.
- SEO skills: keyword research, competitor research, meta texts, Google rankings, SEO software (e.g., Yoast, SemRush, Screaming Frog), the latest SEO best practices, etc.
- Project management process and software experience.
- WordPress content writing and editing experience.
- Access to a modern personal computer and smartphone for running company’s software and creating high-quality screenshots.
