Technical Editor
Job Description
• Create and maintain platform documentation, including user guides, installation guides, FAQs, release notes, and tutorials.
• Research, gather information, and understand complex technical concepts to create accurate and easily understandable documentation.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the content.
• Structure and organize information effectively to improve the usability and accessibility of documentation.
• Follow established style guides and documentation standards to maintain consistency across all materials.
User Support and Engagement:
• Work closely with teams to identify common customer issues and develop troubleshooting guides or knowledge base articles to address them.
• Participate in product discussions and user experience testing to gain insights into user needs and pain points and incorporate this feedback into documentation improvements.
Documentation Maintenance and Updates:
• Continuously review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with product updates and enhancements.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices to enhance the quality and effectiveness of documentation.
• Manage version control and document archival processes to maintain a well-organized and accessible documentation repository.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, templates, and tools to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Stay up to date with the latest technical writing tools and technologies to streamline documentation creation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and programming languages is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality documentation on time.
• Above average writing skills to produce clear and concise user documentation.
Technical Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, English, Literature, and/or Writing a plus.
• 5+ Years of experience as Technical Editor or similar role.
• 5+ years of experience in strong analytical and writing skills including solid experience writing and analysis documentation for multiple audiences.
• 5+ Experience creating and using infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, charts, workflows, and graphics that increase users' understanding.
• Experience working with technical and nontechnical team members and stakeholders at different levels in IT field.
Preferred: •
• TGCS hardware Point of Sale product knowledge would be beneficial. •
• Extensive experience or certification in Microsoft Word
• Familiarity with IXIASoft Content Management System a plus
