Description
Develop and deliver technical talent in a research, technology, or product development environment. Manage the resources that maximize workgroup productivity in support of tactical business needs and implement short/near term business strategies with a focus on tactical execution. Utilize System Requirement Engineering methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed. Establish acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation, and negotiation. Tracking the status of requirements throughout the system life cycle and assess the impact of change to system requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources. Develop product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority. Negotiate product requirements against capability to guide project scope. Evaluate analytical simulation and physical test results to verify product capability and validate requirements. Assess legacy versus proposed system solution capabilities and produce recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions. Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute the activities involved in developing a product to a respectively aligned hierarchy of requirements and technical profiles. Monitor and communicate across functional boundaries to meet project resource and quality expectations. Ensure product capability meets or exceeds expectations and take mitigating actions when project risks are higher than expected as part of Product Development Execution, Monitoring, and Control. Manage the process to establish and maintain the balance of scope, schedule, and resources for projects. Document information based on knowledge gained as part of technical function activities, and communicate to stakeholders with the goal of enabling improved technical productivity and effective knowledge transfer. Execute, improve, train, coach and manage the Technical Function processes and tools including standards and best practices that enable knowledge to be re-used and functional deliverables to be met in a quality and productive manner. Manage and apply existing work processes involving activities such as resource allocation and management, organization and business change, stakeholder management and knowledge management to enable high quality decision making to meet business expectations. Make decisions regarding resource deployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management that impact project cost and delivery within a site or region.

Experience and Education:
Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Product, Design or Service Engineer or Specialist, Engineering Lead or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Product, Design or Service Engineer or Specialist, Engineering Lead or related position. Experience to include: System Requirement Engineering methods and tools; Manage product risk and relative priority; Verify product capability and validate requirements; Meet project resource and quality expectations; Product Development Execution, Monitoring, and Control; Manage scope, schedule, and resources for projects; Technical Function processes and tools; Resource allocation and management; Project prioritization and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management.
