JOB OPPORTUNITY
POSITION: Technical Infrastructure Manager
SALARY AND HOURS: $225,000 - $262,500 per year; 40 hours per week.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Android Engineer required. Experience must include an understanding of systems deployment and automation, monitoring and alerting, for cloud based servers. Servers are deployed in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Understanding of database technologies such as MongoDB and MySQL to interact with the API persistence layer.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Direct, manage and oversee the ongoing development of ClassDojo’s production infrastructure and information technology systems infrastructure
- Lead a team of engineers and developers in the management of ClassDojo’s production infrastructure and systems infrastructure
- Evaluate operations and test technology choices and systems, architecture, processes, and solutions to ensure the ongoing reliability of the ClassDojo systems infrastructure
- Research, analyze and identify our requirements, objectives and workflows to lead complex technical discussions within a cross-functional context
- Assess and analyze systems, infrastructure, policies, and procedures to provide concrete design, reliability, and performance recommendations
- Scope, design, configure and implement project roadmaps and deliverables while developing processes to ensure optimal operation of software solutions, applications and platforms, including but not limited to ClassDojo’s production infrastructure and systems infrastructure
- Identify critical elements, root cause issues faced by our development teams to configure, develop, manage, implement, and monitor the overall reliability of the ClassDojo production infrastructure
- Manage backend software engineering technical efforts while providing training and mentorship to more junior team members
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams to shape broader engineering strategy and execution roadmap
- Develop and build resource materials and best practices for our development teams
