Ardent is seeking a Technical Lead .Net Developer  to join our team.  

This is a hybrid role with work performed on-site in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead .NET Developer that will provide technical leadership, delegate tasks, and is responsible for creating an efficient work environment – following an Agile development work pattern – where you will be required to create and track user stories and must have experience with relative sizing and story points. Provides a strong .NET and Microsoft stack technology background that includes familiarity and experience with a broad range of software development best practices, architecture patterns, technologies, frameworks and tools such as Visual Studio, TFS, MS SQL Server/Oracle, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, CSS3, and Bootstrap. Has experience articulating the business value of provided solutions and how these investments enable future business capability. Collaborates with business stakeholders and builds confidence as a trusted advisor to establish positive relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead and manage a team of .net developers and work collaboratively with customers.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable software applications using .NET and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to understand requirements and implement effective software solutions.
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
  • Apply software development best practices and architectural patterns to ensure robust and maintainable code.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance code quality and efficiency.
  • Identify and address technical challenges, performance bottlenecks, and other issues to ensure optimal application performance and user experience.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, frameworks, and tools, and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure seamless integration of software applications with backend systems and databases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues in a timely manner.
  • Document software designs, technical specifications, and development processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and team collaboration.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience leading and managing a team of .net developers while working collaboratively with customers
  • A minimum of 3-6 years with strong proficiency in .NET framework and related technologies, including C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API.
  • Extensive experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS) for version control, source code management, and collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and experience working with MS SQL Server/Oracle or other relational databases.
  • Proficiency in front-end web development technologies, including jQuery, CSS3, and Bootstrap, to create intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, such as Agile methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of frontend JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or React.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks, such as NUnit or xUnit.
  • Understanding of software security best practices and experience implementing secure coding techniques.
