Our Team & Opportunity

This is a Technical Lead role in the Personal Investor T echnology team. You will be joining a scrum team that is responsible for the continual improvement of Vanguard's premier retail investor web application in the Australian market (Personal Investor).

We are looking for someone, like you, that has a passion for the art of software development and that can work in a wide variety of settings. When you join us, you will own the architectural decisions for the team and become the visionary force behind the technical solution. You value collaborating with your team and find every opportunity to connect with your peers across the division as well as across the industry. You love to learn from others because you value their opinion and because you are responsible for informing our technical and business strategy and helping the Delivery Manager craft the teams' training needs to meet that strategy.

Our Tech Stack

Our tech stack is continually evolving but this what we use right now :

• Front End: Angular 1 5 , React Native, Typescript, HTML 5, CSS 3, SCSS, ES6, Jasmine, Karma, Redux, StencilJS , NodeJS, Teamsite , Cypress, Cucumber , Jest

• Back End: Java 8 & 11, AWS (SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation), JUnit, Cucumber, Pact

Nice to haves:

• Experience in mobile development ; Swift and/or Kotlin

We are looking for someone that has :

• Demonstrable experience in people leadership skills

• Demonstrable experience in Java or other object-orientated programming language

• Demonstrable experience working on public facing web products eg ecommerce, online banking

• Demonstrable experience in agile patterns and practices

• The ability to debate about the work in an open, respectful and thoughtful manner with a curious mind to learn new things

• A strong appetite to share what they know
