Job Description
Team: IT
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technical Lead - Automation QA Engineer in Canada.
This senior technical leadership role focuses on designing and delivering next-generation automation testing frameworks for complex enterprise-grade applications. You will play a critical role in transforming long regression cycles into highly efficient continuous delivery pipelines through scalable, resilient, and intelligent automation solutions. Operating at the intersection of architecture, QA engineering, and innovation, you will guide the development of testing harnesses, simulation layers, and verification pipelines that support mission-critical systems. The role requires strong hands-on engineering expertise combined with the ability to shape technical direction, influence architecture decisions, and mentor QA engineers across multiple workstreams. You will collaborate closely with architects, product leaders, and global engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This is an opportunity to build foundational automation systems that directly accelerate product delivery and redefine testing standards at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design and end-to-end implementation of core automation testing frameworks, including desktop test harnesses, vendor simulation layers, and document verification systems
- Architect scalable and resilient automation solutions that balance correctness, performance, robustness, and business impact
- Develop and maintain API mocking and simulation strategies to support complex third-party integrations at scale
- Build automation frameworks for Windows desktop applications (WPF/WinForms), ensuring reliable UI-level testing and interaction patterns
- Design and implement automated document validation pipelines, including extraction and verification logic for financial calculations
- Establish best practices for technical documentation, code quality, repository management, and framework handover to QA execution teams
- Collaborate with architects, product leaders, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with system architecture and business goals
- Contribute to code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization, with a focus on reliability and auto-healing capabilities
- Mentor QA engineers and support adoption of new automation frameworks across multiple teams and workstreams
- 7+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, Framework Engineer, or Automation QA Technical Lead
- Strong expertise in .NET, WPF, and WinForms for building and evaluating automation test harnesses
- Hands-on experience with API testing, mocking, and simulation tools such as GraphQL and Pact.js
- Proven experience designing scalable test automation frameworks in complex enterprise environments
- Experience building or working with agentic development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools)
- Strong understanding of system architecture and ability to translate high-level designs into scalable implementations
- Experience with integration-heavy environments involving multiple third-party APIs
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging, performance, and reliability engineering
- Strong communication skills in English and experience collaborating with distributed global teams
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and high technical complexity
- US-based alignment required for this engagement
- Fully remote-first and flexible work environment
- Opportunity to work within a global engineering organization across diverse cultures and time zones
- Strong focus on employee well-being, including mental health support and wellness initiatives
- Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling options
- Career development opportunities across projects, technologies, and industries
- Exposure to advanced engineering practices, modern automation frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools
- Collaborative and inclusive work culture focused on learning, mentorship, and technical excellence
- Equal opportunity workplace with strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
