Technical Lead, Autonomy System and Safety

We are looking for a strong Technical Lead in our System Engineering team to join our Mountain View office to develop both requirement and data driven approaches on building and evaluating our autonomous systems. We use these results to drive our autonomous software development with high standards on our robotaxi customers’ safety and comfort. 

What you will do:

• Research and develop processes and tools for autonomy systems engineering
• Lead and build a high impact team of system engineers focusing on autonomy systems and safety
• Identify and prioritize the issues found from driving data. Work with data scientist, software engineer, test engineer to develop safety and compliance evaluation strategy and process
• Work closely with infrastructure and simulation teams to design, implement, and manage high quality simulation-based tests and metrics
• Lead organizational initiatives with safety validation and assurance. Collaborate both internally and externally (OEM)

Qualification:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field. 
• Working experience in autonomous driving systems 
• Data mining and analysis skills with Python, SQL or other languages using large datasets. 
• Solid software development and testing fundamentals
• Minimum 4 years of work experience related to autonomous driving systems
• Strong communication and leadership skills to manage engineering teams of technical experts

The expected salary range is $169,303 to $284,711 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, training, and skill level, so may be higher or lower than what is shown on this posting. This job may be also eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equities.
