About the team

The HubSpot Product team is made up of over 1000+ engineers designers product managers and researchers. We’re passionate about building tools that help small and medium-sized businesses market sell and serve their customers — and ultimately grow better.

Those tools end up in the HubSpot application platform which itself is made up of thousands of services workers and jobs spanning over 170 teams and thousands of repos. Our teams work autonomously to deploy these systems across a common infrastructure up to 3000 times a day. As we’ve grown to serve over 75000 customers in 100 countries reliability and stability have become just as important as speed and time to market. And as we’ve opened up our APIs our product has moved to the core of many of our customers’ and partners’ businesses.

In 2019 we built an SRE team to help our product teams focus on delivering highly available and dependable products. This team is off to a great start: evangelizing building tools and embedding onto product teams. We are looking to grow this team by hiring engineers with an interest in reliability and scale. This is an opportunity to work on hard problems across a variety of domains with an experienced team of software engineers.

This role sits within the Reliability & Infrastructure team you will improve the reliability of the front end as well work in back end software development projects as a Full-Stack developer.

Even though this is a Full-Stack role your primary skills in coding etc should lean more towards the Front End.

What we’re looking for:

• You have frontend development experience. We work with JavaScript and React primarily but experience with specific technologies is secondary to strong programming fundamentals.

• Experience with Software Engineering SRE culture improving reliability with automation chaos testing and process improvement ideal but not essential.

• A strong engineer interested in full-stack development writing in Java and/or JavaScript

• Take ownership work collaboratively and figure things out

• Have a thirst for technical challenges with big data and distributed systems including HBase Kafka Elasticsearch and Dropwizard

• Experience participating in design and operating distributed systems within cloud infrastructure at scale

• Interest or experience implementing and iterating on process to improve outcomes with minimal disruption to team culture

• Interest or experience working across multiple stakeholders to drive effective change

Cash compensation range: 186300-279500 USD Annually This resource will help guide how we recommend thinking about the range you see. The cash compensation above includes base salary on-target commission for employees in eligible roles and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate including their skills experience qualifications and other job-related reasons.
