We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Leader to lead our Platform Automation Team. You will be responsible for building automation that supports our global virtualization and cloud environments Your expertise in automation along with your exceptional leadership skills will help drive Rockwell's digital transformation allowing us to deliver best-in-class, agile, and on-demand IT products and services.

What you will do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the automation infrastructure, tools, and frameworks to support efficient software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Champion the use of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles to manage and version control infrastructure resources, leveraging tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and availability, leveraging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement secure development and deployment practices, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and compliance checks.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps and automation, evaluating their applicability to our organization and driving their adoption when appropriate.
  • Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes, identifying opportunities for automation and optimization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in automation and at least 3 years of experience managing a team
  • Proven track record of building automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration with virtualization platforms.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing technical teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues related to virtualization and containerization.
  • An aversion to manually fixing repeatable operational tasks with an affinity for automation.
