We are seeking a an individual to work with the Technical Director to ensure all equipment, personnel and systems are in place, operational and safe at all times. Work with the Vice President of Production and Production Managers to plan and execute all technical requirements at Brookfield Place, Manhattan West.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and inspection of the events systems, including but not limited to: speaker arrays, sound and lighting consoles, lighting equipment, rigging and staging.
  • Ensure the Arts Brookfield equipment and accessories are safe, available, inventoried, and operational.
  • Assist with scheduling stagehands, audio personnel, and lighting technicians in conjunction with the production department.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to stagehands, audio and lighting technicians.
  • Attend production meetings and site surveys as required.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of assigned events, from pre-production through strike.
  • Assist with managing the systems upgrade projects at Brookfield Place
  • Assist with generating ground plans for installations and events at Manhattan West, Brooklyn Commons and Brookfield Place as assigned by Technical Director.
  • Supervise art installations in the Winter Garden Gallery as assigned by Technical Director.
  • Assist Arts Brookfield marketing team with the construction and maintenance of signage units.
  • Work with Technical Director to contact, negotiate, and arrange supplemental rental equipment, including but not limited to staging, audio, video, lighting, and rigging.
  • Support Operations with campus-wide music system at Brookfield Place
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues.
  • Research/demo new equipment and technology.
  • Perform manual labor as necessary, including, but not limited to lifting and moving equipment (up to 50lbs)
  • Locate and prepare any auxiliary spaces, as needed for events.
  • Ensure the safety of the public by providing the necessary security and the safe routing of pedestrian traffic during all events.
  • Protect building surfaces and systems from unnecessary or excessive wear.
  • Work with building engineers, security, and operations staff to facilitate Arts and Events needs throughout the complexes.
  • Operate scissor lifts as needed, ability to operate forklift a plus.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel
  • Working knowledge of ETC Eos Family
  • Working knowledge of Dante audio protocol and QLab a plus
  • Overnight and weekend supervision of labor and activities as needed

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Type: Exempt/Non-exempt

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly

Annual Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
