Job Description

ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract. Join our growing team as a Technical Manager in support of the FAA's Support Services Team.

Responsibilities:

Technical Managers serve as the contractor's Front Line Managers (first line supervisors) and are responsible for providing contractor supervision within each branch/team and must make all project assignments. Technical Manager(s) function as the contractor interface with the FAA Team and Sub-Team managers as well as with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

Work usually includes routine project/program tasks based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Duties typically include but are not limited to: setting priorities; assigning tasks/projects; providing technical assistance to subordinate employees; monitoring and evaluating performance of subordinate contract employees; reviewing and providing acceptance of deliverables prior to submission to the FAA; providing management of contractor performance in terms of quality, quantity, and timeliness; coordinating and developing program, administrative and technical talent through on-the-job and formal training; working and communicating with FAA managers on programmatic issues; ensuring FAA approval is obtained for contractor travel, overtime, and purchases; coaching and developing contract employee capabilities; ensuring personal services are avoided; approving contractor leave; reviewing travelvouchers to ensure accuracy before submission to the FAA, submitting reports and other information requested by the FAA; ensuring training forms (both the Support Contractor Authorization - FAA Sponsored Training Form and the AJW-14 electronic training request) have been submitted to the training team and approved by the FAA prior to allowing attendance in training courses; ensuring accurate submittals of training cost estimates before submission to the training team; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate.

Requirements

• Experience with National Airspace System (NAS) facilities, systems, and equipment is desired.

• Knowledge of government procurement, documentation and contracting rules and regulations is desired.

• Management experience of diverse groups or teams is desired.

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Education:

Bachelor of Science from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program in an Engineering discipline is required.

A degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field such as physics, chemistry, computer science, or mathematics may be substituted in lieu of the engineering degree, depending on other qualifications and experience. The experience must include: direct responsibility for providing systems level requirements definition; product design, development and installation; development of and modifications to hardware and software documentation; quality assurance and quality control programs and procedures.
