Technical Marketing - (B4)

Description

A member of Applied's IRMC team (Investor Relations, Public Relations and Marketing Communications functions), this individual is current in the major technology trends of the semiconductor and computing industries and uses their knowledge to help develop content that builds awareness and understanding of the value of Applied Materials to external audiences. Interfaces with technologists to generate materials for use in marketing/PR/IR activities, including product and technology presentations, and website content.

Requirements

Background in semiconductor technology: devices, process technologies, materials, and manufacturing. General understanding of the evolving markets for semiconductors, computing, and communications, including Internet of Things, electric/autonomous vehicles, and AI. Ability to understand complex technology concepts and translate them into high-level messaging that builds awareness and understanding among non-technical audiences. Strong writing and presentation creation skills with experience writing for technology industry journals, media publications and/or blogs a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Hand-on involvement in development of product-related marketing content, especially PowerPoint presentation materials. Contributes to the creation of unique and compelling story angles that align with strategic themes. Takes ownership of assigned projects, solving problems and completing deliverables with minimal guidance. Helps research and develop concepts for brand-compliant product naming, coordinates trademark process with internal groups.

Prior Experience

6+ years of experience as a contributor of original content in addition to project leadership. Prior technical and/or product marketing experience. Experience in the semiconductor and/or computing and communications industries.

Functional Knowledge

Demonstrates familiarity with technical trends in semiconductors, technical understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment, and knowledge of the role of semiconductors in end products. Applies these capabilities to interactions with internal groups and others to fulfill responsibilities with minimal guidance. Is fully conversant with commonly used office software. Graphics software experience a bonus.

Demonstrates excellent presentation, writing, and story-telling skills (samples required).

Interpersonal Skills

Excellent written and oral skills. Understands the role of a service group within an organization and applies this perspective to interactions with served groups while adhering to corporate guidelines and policies. Ability to achieve consensus among diverse individuals or groups.

Qualifications

Education: Degree in Physical Sciences (Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science) preferred, with technical marketing experience in the semiconductor industry a plus.

U.S. Salary Range:

$132,000.00 - $181,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
