What you will do!
- Ensure that the network elements are operating as expected; through continues network administration, network monitoring as investigated and resolving anomalies.
- Lead the work with other areas to ensure that any changes to the network are robustly tested and implemented per JCI design standards.
- Collaborate with business owners to implement reliable, manageable, and secure solutions that meet Johnson Controls standards and add value to our business needs.
- Identify performance issues, interpret trends (e.g., traces of network traffic), and implements improvements and savings.
- Responsible for change management requests in Service now, CMDB inventory updates and resolve incident tickets as assigned.
- Provide recommendations on specific network configurations and design for hardware selection to the IT team for procurement.
- Ensure documentation is kept up dated to reflect the current network configuration.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
- Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
- Respond to fault reports in a timely manner aiming to resolve any customers impacting faults in as short a timeframe as sensibly possible. This may include the need to work unsociable hours.
- Provide direction, approvals and guidance while working with our managed service provider that follows Johnson Controls standards including but not limited to, Network refresh, Business as Usual adds/removes, and Merger and Acquisitions.
- Have strong organizational and project management skillsets to drive initiatives and stay on schedule.
What we look for!
- 10+ years' experience in network engineering and operations.
- Fluent in English language.
- Hands-on experience in network design, engineering, monitoring, circuit provisioning, vendor management and troubleshooting
- Experience with all Cisco LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies, Meraki, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.
- Knowledge of networking infrastructure suppliers and service offerings including Cisco, Meraki, F5 Network, and Zscaler.
- Knowledge of Carrier Services - WAN Circuits, MPLS, VPNS, VRFs, Ethernet, OCx, DS3, Broadband and SDWAN.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and network hardware
- Ability to implement, administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure devises, including Experience in Meraki, SD-WAN and NSX Software Defined Network Data Centers
- Experience with IoT, Cellular Transport, and Wireless Security.
- Strong skills and desire to work in a process-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in a global network environment.
- Experience in documentation and topology maps for all network components
- Strong ability to implement, administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, router, switches, and controllers.
- Ability to report and build dynamic PowerBi reports is desirable.
- Ability to communicate to management on status, issues, and planning.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
