Shift5 is hiring a full-time Technical Operations Engineer to join our growing team. We’re seeking a seasoned engineering expert with proven experience optimizing and building the infrastructure of an engineering department. Our team and customer base are quickly growing and we’re scaling our team and processes smartly to deliver flawless products to our customers.Â
Shift5 is a rapidly growing cybersecurity company. We specialize in cybersecurity technology for operational systems, data collection, and insights for a wide variety of operational systems. In this role you will be expected to:
- Identify areas for improvement and act on data observed or provided from other teams and functions within the engineering organization
- Design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges
- Anticipate operational problems and develop proposed solutions
- Improve and optimize engineering processes
- Document and train engineering staff on new/improved processes, new methodologies, and/or new technologies we adopt
- Represent engineering in various project, task force, working group or other team meetings as needed
We're looking for someone who is/has:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in an enterprise technology environment
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
- Demonstrated analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making, additionally able to make reasoned decisions in situations of uncertainty or imperfect data
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
- Confidence in communicating proactively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
- Passionate about solving real problems
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage numerous complex projects simultaneously
- US Citizen
- Active (or ability to hold/obtain) a US Government Top Secret security clearance
