Technical Product Manager
Job Description
We are currently looking for a Technical Product Managerat our Franklin, TN Location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as functional subject matter expert for maintenance and enhancement of Vehicle Incentive Management System product with specific focus on sales audit functions
- Responsible for working with business users in the Contest and Incentive Management area to help them define their Information Systems needs and translate that into requirements that can be delivered by IT vendors
- Coordinate and provide oversight for application development, maintenance and production support performed by different IT vendors and act as a liaison between business and technical teams
- Review and approve analysis and solution presented by technical teams from IT vendors using working knowledge of basic J2EE/Java framework
- Must possess the skills to read, understand, interpret, and communicate technical systematic issues effectively to management and peers and should be able to demonstrate these skill categories: analytical, technical, managerial, and interpersonal
- Work independently with business users to define concepts under general direction of manager
- Support the business users in creating business case by defining their system needs and by estimating appropriate high level costs and resource requirements
- Should be able to challenge business users on their assumptions and proposed execution plan where necessary
- Support application development by being part of a product team and following SDLC processes to create Business Analyst deliverables including application testing
- Provide oversight and lead troubleshooting as required to restore critical application downtime or functionality loss caused by various issues like data interface gaps, configuration gaps or user errors
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and be able to manage priorities
- Review and provide guidance to the product team ensuring compliance with standards and enterprise technology stack including Informatica, Business Objects, Tableau and Erwin
- Conducts training sessions for peers on data management tools and processes
- Responsible for designing and supporting data ingestion and transformation solutions that will be utilized in reporting, analytics, or within other applications
- Responsible for the development, testing, and delivery of Business Objects reports for the user community
- Creates and executes test cases to validate the integrity of both the data and functional requirements
- Coordinates and facilitate user-acceptance testing
- Job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ Years overall experience with at least:
- 5 years of experience working with development and maintenance teams
- 2 years of experience in working with third party/external vendors
- Prior experience working with off-shore personnel is a plus
- Experience with J2EE/Java based applications
- Oracle database experience a plus
- Working knowledge of interface with external systems
- Interface with mainframe system experience a plus
- Business process knowledge of automotive retail sales and dealer sales a strong plus
- Basic knowledge of Project Management methods, tools and application development process
