TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER, COSTA MESA, CA
Responsibilities: The Technical Product Manager - Devices & Network Technology plays an integral role in our rapidly growing device strategy and execution, as well as our continued rollout of 5G network support. Serve as a subject matter expert at the cross-section of device feature support and network compatibility; Work with a wide-ranging group of Product, QA, Engineering, TechOps, and Supply Chain team members in order to ensure that we’re making the right purchase decisions and staying ahead of the curve with new device technology, Support our ongoing transition to 5G, providing direction on matters of 5G band technology and device requirements; Proactively engage with technical team members at both our wholesale network partner and various OEMs to ensure that new features can be brought to market in a timely manner; Help drive our eSIM strategy, which is a critical component of our product roadmap; Identify opportunities in the ever evolving eSIM space and work with internal product development teams to level up our customer acquisition and customer support experiences.
- Serve as the company’s primary technical product owner for device-specific network features and network compatibility, including but not limited to APN configurations, frequency bands, eSIM, and carrier bundles.
- Act as liaison to both network partners and OEMs for any new device-level features that might need to be coordinated between parties.
- In collaboration with cross-functional teams, unlock game-changing opportunities for how we can support our customers throughout their journey by integrating new device-level features into our existing account services ecosystem.
- Stay informed of upcoming OS changes for both iOS and Android, and work cross-functionally, both internally and externally, to leverage those changes to our benefit while avoiding unexpected impacts.
- Work with our Native Applications development team to incorporate new functionality into our iOS and Android apps.
- Work with SIM technology experts on our Network and Supply Chain teams to help drive SIM procurement decisions as they pertain to device functionality and network feature requirements.
- Support our Product and Device Procurement Teams in any decisions related to device network compatibility.
- Collaborate with our dedicated Device QA Engineer to define and carry out the appropriate device testing strategies.
- Establish an understanding of our business’s device needs, both within our core business lines (Mint and Ultra), as well as with wholesale partners, and proactively drive decision-making as our in-house device technology expert.
- Act as subject matter expert on APN and carrier bundle configurations across both iOS and Android.
- Aggregate location-based band frequency information from multiple data sources to support and evolve our proprietary coverage scoring formulas.
- Drive our eSIM strategy forward, keeping pace with OEMs as they continue to adapt and evolve eSIM technology.
- Support our expansion of fixed wireless and IoT capabilities in both our core and wholesale business lines by providing direction on device requirements and compatibility.
- Capture and document functional and system requirements from both internal and external sources and utilize them to drive product development discussion with Product and Engineering teams.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and trade-offs in direct coordination with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD, PLUS 5 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE AS TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGER, PRODUCT MANAGER, BUSINESS ANALYST, PROGRAM MANAGER, OR SOFTWARE ENGINEER SPECIALIZING IN DEVICE NETWORK FUNCTIONALITY, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION.

REQUIRED SKILLS: EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF:Â
- Experience in Technology Product Management: all phases of the SDLC for large and complex projects.
- Experience in Launching and Certifying Products with Mobile operators, in order to create new revenue opportunities for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)/Mobile virtual network operators MVNO’s.
- Experience integrating 3rd party platforms or products into an established technical stack.
- Experience in Development, Integration, and validation of 3GPP requirements.
- Experienced for 5G RAN, APN, SIM Onboarding, eSIM, FOTA OMA-CP, OMADM services, Network coverage scoring and deployments.
- Experience in Network Applications such as: VoLTE, LTE, IMS, e911, E2E network or platform services & In-depth knowledge of DM-LwM2M, HTTP, HTTPS, HTTP2, DTLS, or COAP Protocols.
- Knowledge of tools such as: Qualcomm QXDM, QCAT, PST, Shannon, Intel STT, Mobile Analyzer, Wire shark, MediaTek Genie, ETL/ELT MTK tool, ADB, Logcat, NetScout Network Logging tool, TEMS, Data Grip, or Postman & WebSystem in addition tools such as: Keysight Anite, Anritsu, R&S CMW500, HAE, Rally, Jira, Test Rail, CSM-SAMSON, Grand Central, HP ALM, Data Grip, or Postman.
- Experience working with Tier-I & Tier-II global technology vendors such as: Google, Samsung, MediaTek, Qualcomm, One Plus, Quectel, Ublox, Telit, Sierra, Chang-Hong, Intel,Inseego, Cradle point, or Digi International.
