Job Purpose
Working directly with LGC Clinical Diagnostics clinical laboratory (CDx) customers and key opinion leaders (KOLs) across Europe, the Technical Product Manager (TPM) will help enable the promise of clinical genomics by supporting the timely and accurate implementation of next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based tests through a combination of training, advocacy, pre-sales activities, troubleshooting and general guidance. The TPM will guide laboratories on how LGC CDx industry leading reference materials can help them develop better assays, validate more thoroughly and routinely monitor ongoing performance. Partnering closely with the sales and support teams, the TPM will develop strong and trusted advisory relationships with LGC CDx customers and KOLs to provide valuable market insight to guide both product development efforts and market development activities, and be seen as a critical go-to resource across clinical applications including tumor profiling, liquid biopsy, heme malignancies, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) and inherited disease assays
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as primary field-based support and subject matter expert for all of LGC CDx clinical genomics portfolio and applications
- Provide guidance and technical support for the performance of LGC CDx reference material in clinical lab customersā assay development, validation and/or daily lab operations to help establish SeraCare products as a critical and gold standard lab QC tool
- Coordinate pre-sales technical activities including product presentations, technology evaluations, conference participation, results review and necessary follow up to help convert early prospects into promising sales opportunities
- Interpret customer needs and resolve customer technical issues by thoroughly gathering all necessary information and facilitating timely investigations with necessary in-house personnel to ensure responses and actions are effective and customer satisfaction is not compromised
- Identify, engage and work closely with regulatory bodies and consortiums to drive advocacy for the use of reference materials in the broader clinical genomics market
- Develop and coordinate a network of close-partnership āearly evaluationā sites for new product programs including ensuring the labās timely and thorough performance feedback
- Promptly and expertly respond to customer technical support queries and complaints over phone and email with highest standard of customer service
- Provide input and guidance to product management and R&D on new/improved product opportunities
- Represent LGC CDx SeraCareās brand and culture professionally and with integrity in all areas including scientific meetings and tradeshows
Ability to travel 25% or more as needed

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related
- 3 yearsā experience developing or supporting clinical sequencing applications in one or more of the following areas: Oncology, reproductive health, inherited and/or infectious disease testing
- Strong understanding of next generation sequencing platforms and workflows, including Illumina and Thermo-Fisher Ion TorrentTM systems as well as multiple library prep/assay chemistries
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and knowledge of regulations including CAP/CLIA, CE-IVD and/or global IVD guidelines
