Technical Product Manager (Platform)

Alarm.com is looking to add a Technical Product Manager to our growing Platform Team. As a Technical Product Manager, you will drive the evolution of our Software Platform and Infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have both technical depth and solid product management experience, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Work closely with all teams at Alarm.com to understand pain points and future needs
• Prioritize and manage product backlog, balancing short-term and long-term product goals
• Driving the end-to-end development life cycle for the Platform Team - some require product specifications / UX design where others require coordination and enablement across our technology teams.
• Maintain and improve documentation and development resources for Software Engineers
• Staying up to date on technology trends and the current best practices
• Partnering with our technology teams to resolve Platform issues
• Championing enhancements to our Software Stack

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of total experience varying between Software engineering and product management
• Previous experience managing technology product lifecycle
• Previous professional working experience as a Software Engineer
• Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Previous experience liaising across teams
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work on multiple projects across multiple areas simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVES: 

• Experience with C# and .NET
• Experience with SQL Databases
• Experience with Native Mobile App development
• Experience with WEB development
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Azure and managing a hybrid cloud / on-prem environment
• Previous experience with customer interviews and managing customer feedback
