Technical Product Marketing Manager

Product Marketing Team | Santa Clara

The Product Marketing team at Chegg is results-oriented and data driven and is responsible for generating customer insights that inform audience segmentation, growth and retention strategy, go-to-market plans, and post launch optimizations. We are looking for an experienced technical product marketing manager who loves understanding student needs and is always looking for ways to deliver a better customer experience.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping both product strategy and business decisions through optimization, data analysis, cross-functional partnerships, and strong go-to-market programs. You will own both product marketing technology and product marketing programs for Chegg's Learning Services. The right person for the role can execute as a hybrid of individual product marketer as well as a marketing technology partner. With oversight across PMM, you will represent the collective product surfaces for both US and International growth. You will lead with a test and learn mindset and strategically manage overall product optimization plans and execution in partnership with product, engineer, and marketing team. You will also be responsible for working with key stakeholders to ensure that technical, quality and schedule requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with product and business leads to shape product experience by understanding regional needs, market context and competitive insights.
  • Design and lead the execution of inspirational marketing strategy and plans to drive acquisition and product optimization.
  • Build regional go-to-market plans and tactics to win in market.
  • Work with business and analytics team to develop KPIs and goals and rapidly evaluate and adapt marketing programs and A/B tests based on results.
  • Lead the enablement of funnel optimization with new technologies-ie Optimizely Web/ Contentful/ Opt-In Monster, etc
  • Drive process development with internal teams and coordinate messaging and delivery of stakeholder communications
  • Drive accountability and awareness, solve problems, remove roadblocks, and proactively search out and address risks or weaknesses to ensure technical, quality and schedule requirements are met.
  • Enable communication & transparency to ensure alignment at all levels of the organization.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Required:

  • 4-6 years of technical product marketing experience
  • 2-3 years of front-end dev/ technology experience and proven experience managing technology development programs
  • Deep expertise in end-to-end product marketing, including both inbound and outbound capabilities, driving strategy development and cross-functional execution.
  • Experience leading or working closely with product, design and creative teams on positioning and messaging, A/B test, product monetization and acquisition.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with regional stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing time and resources based on business impact.
  • A highly analytical mindset with an ROI-focused approach to marketing initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - across all levels including executives.

Preferred:

  • Experience with A/B testing tools such as Optimizely/ Contentful/ Opt-In Monster
  • Strong understanding / knowledge of Javascript / Typescript (must be comfortable working with vanilla JS.
  • Optional but extremely helpful Experience with ReactJS/NextJS
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to message marketing technology content to key stakeholders & customers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with direct impact to core business metrics.
  • Previous experience marketing large-scale direct to consumer products
  • Freemium or Subscription service marketing experience
  • Previous experience marketing to international markets

The pay range for this position is $86,951 to $215,306. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
