The Technical Product Owner leads an agile team in designing and delivering new products and features as part of the Digital Integration Platform that enable other Digital teams to enhance the digital interactions and experiences of our customers or co-workers. The Technical Product Owner is responsible for sharing the vision with the team, prioritizing work to achieve the vision while maximizing the value of the products and features delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Builds awareness and understanding of the Integration Platform across Digital and business partners
  • Manages the delivery of business value and outcomes by owning and prioritizing the team backlog based on portfolio and project priorities and dependencies with other teams
  • Defines stories and enables the team to release products and features iteratively
  • Creates and maintains roadmaps based on product vision in alignment with Ameren business and Digital stakeholders

  • Collaborates with the rest of the agile team on acceptance criteria for the stories and accepts the work on behalf of the customers
  • Participates in development of business cases that accurately represent the investment and benefits of the products or features to be developed or enhanced
  • Serves as an advocate and champion for the products and features, presenting at demonstrations, retrospectives and other opportunities to provide updates and sustain alignment with stakeholders
  • Gains a comprehensive understanding of customer needs to ensure the products and features delight customers and co-workers
  • Promotes adherence to the existing patterns and standards, assists in developing new ones as required, and promotes reuse of existing integration offerings

  • Establishes and leads maintenance of the Enterprise Integrations Governance and tracks the KPI metrics
  • Collaborates with the rest of the agile team and other Ameren Digital teams, to ensure successful delivery in accordance with timeline and budget
  • Serves as primary liaison and contact point for the team's communication needs regarding the products or features being developed or enhanced
  • Actively participates in agile team's ceremonies and represents the team in project or program planning events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required, master's degree preferred. Three or more years of direct experience working as key member of a team enhancing business or customer processes and solutions (such as, business analyst, product owner, technical lead, etc.). Solid technical background with hands-on experience in designing and developing APIs and Microservices. One or more years of experience in a full-time role on an Agile team (such as, a business analyst, UX designer, scrum master, technical position, etc.) is preferred. Certification as a Scrum Product Owner and PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner is required or must be obtained within 12-months of employment in this role. Scaled Agile experience preferred. Prior experience in the Utility industry preferred. Preferred technical skills include experience with Jira/Confluence (or similar tools), SharePoint, and API Management technologies, like MuleSoft.
