Technical Program Manager
Job Description
ARS is seeking a full-time mid-to-senior level Technical Program Manager (TPM) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH, supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The Technical Program Manager's primary functions will include planning and leading the execution of technical work to support AFRL in the design and development of next-generation aircraft and sensor autonomy architectures. The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for defining requirements and program scope, overseeing test planning and execution, and managing the program schedule. The Technical Program Manager is responsible for working closely with software developers, engineers, and system architects to integrate many loosely-coupled, tightly-aligned software services for end-to-end testing in a simulation and live-flight test environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and work closely with diverse organizations and user communities to understand key interface standards, obtain relevant test data, document assumptions, and capture critical metric data to inform early development decisions
- Help drive and define program strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Build and manage product roadmaps and schedules
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Facilitate the transition to Digital Engineering (DE) strategies and processes
- Facilitate and strengthen the digital link between model-based systems engineering (MBSE) architecture representations and M&S tools
- Support system-level integration, test, and evaluation to inform design decisions
- Communicate technical information in the form of visual updates, technical reports, and/or briefings to government leaders
- Assess system design and architecture
- Capture and communicate sensor requirements and ensure quality of deliverables
- Coordinate taskings with team and enable rapid iteration of designs
- Ensure successful execution and delivery of government deliverables
- Abide by regulations and adhere to DOD/AF/AFRL/ARS standards
- Support Government Program Manager as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience with DoD programs
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret DoD clearance
- Experience with MBSE and MBSE tools
- Familiarity with DoD Open Standard Architectures
- Experience with version control software such as Git, SVN, Mercurial, or other similar tools
- Basic knowledge of aircraft, Air-to-Air weapons, operations, communications, command and control, network topologies, sensors, data correlation and fusion processes and algorithms, and electronic warfare
- BS in EE, ME, CE, AeroE, Physics, Mathematics, Sys Eng, or another related technical degree
- Relevant technology expertise and ability to adapt to environment limitations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate customer technical needs into technical specifications
- PMP Certification desirable
