Technical Program Manager, Data Science

The Role

As a Program Manager, you will drive new and ongoing strategic initiatives for Tesla's Collision organization. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between different groups within and outside of Tesla. You will interface daily with database, machine learning, and engineering teams to make data derived decisions that make Tesla employee more efficient. You will be expected to drive technical discussions between different team. You will also be responsible for providing regular updates including risks. And benefits to future operations. As a Technical Program Manager you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy on your programs while contributing to the processes that improve the organization's productivity.

This role can be located in any of Tesla's Collision Centers in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Correlate crash data statistics, customer natural language concerns, parts consumption, and repair operations to build a predictive model of repair planning
• Use existing Tesla artificial intelligence infrastructures to build a future proof model that can ingest new data and learn over time
• Distill organizational objectives into tactical plans. Plan and coordinate activities and resources to successfully realize targets across teams, and in coordination with leadership to align with strategic objectives
• Implement findings with product and engineering teams
• Excellent project management skills, experience working in a matrix organization
• Drive database and machine learning initiatives with engineers, vendors and partners
• Measure, monitor and communicate metrics and impact to efficiency in repair planning

Requirements

• Basic programming (SQL, R, Python, C++, other) and statistical software experience (JMP, Minitab, or other)
• Degree in Science/Engineering/Business Administration, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
• 5+ years of results oriented track record of managing technical projects focused on Data Science, Engineering, or Program/Project management, ideally related to vehicular software or crash event data
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently, with great documentation and organization skills
• Self-driven with an analytical mind with a bias for action and problem solving
• Proven ability to set expectations, manage to deadlines and hold individuals and teams accountable to critical milestones
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective at communicating within, across teams, and upward in a manufacturing and engineering organization, both technical and non-technical

Expected Compensation

$88,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
