Job Description

The Role

As a TPM at Tesla, you will be managing projects from concept, through development, prototyping, validation, production and customer fleet support. The role requires significant responsibility and you will need to work with great autonomy. You will engage and manage the contributions from the breadth of functions at our company: Design, manufacturing, validation and reliability, vehicle integration, supply chain, supplier quality, production and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage programs feature baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technology risks areas for execution
  • Align a diverse team to a shared objective
  • Cross-functionally communicate key development updates, risks and timeline on projects as well as presenting to Tesla Executive team on a weekly basis
  • Identify tactical and creative ways to overcome obstacles while meeting deadlines despite setbacks
  • Manage valuable prototype assets to ensure optimal learning for experiments and testing
  • Develop tools to automate various reporting or planning functions for the Technical Programs Management Team
  • Conduct planning and execution/support of new product introduction (NPI) builds

Requirements

  • Understanding of new product development cycles and criticality of time-to-market
  • Ability to grasp complex technical topics and abstract key issues
  • Ability to identify critical risks, and opportunities to simplify
  • Ability to drive action from a broad team to achieve our shared goals
  • Experience in leading large group of people, and ability to remain calm with big picture in mind
  • Expert and detailed record-keeping and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication skills from teams to Executives, both verbal and written
  • Skills with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software etc) with the ability to create and maintain metrics
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, practical knowledge, or equivalent

    • Expected Compensation

      $88,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
