Technical Program Manager, Hardware Systems

Summary

Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) with server hardware development experience at scale. This Technical Program Manager position will work with cross-functional teams in Meta's Infrastructure organization spanning multiple sites to support proof of concept generation, design, component selection, integration, development, and validation of new hardware products. This position could focus on Compute, Storage or AI/ML system solutions specialized to target Meta's infrastructure workload, and would require engagement with external vendors as well as a range of internal engineering and specialized teams. Meta's Infrastructure Engineering organization is responsible for the growth, management and 24x7 upkeep of all Meta's products and services.

Required Skills

Technical Program Manager, Hardware Systems Responsibilities:

• Lead technical program management of next-generation Compute, or Storage or AI/ML servers platform(s) for Meta Infrastructure in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (Data Center, Network, Hardware Systems, Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering, Capacity Management) and across multiple physical locations.
• Own overall program success spanning the end-to-end development of the hardware product. This includes the server, modules, chassis, subsystems spanning internal and external development work through successful ingestion into Meta's infrastructure and support of production workloads at scale.
• Develop and manage the overall program including defining scope, requirements, development model, schedules, and deliverables with engineering teams, partners, and stakeholders.
• Influence broader roadmaps through product interception and market fit, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies.
• Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
• Engage in product management in collaboration with Engineering counterparts to define product roadmaps.
• Perform risk assessment, risk mitigation and change management on projects.
• Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
• Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
• Analyze infrastructure needs and produce hardware designs and prototypes to meet those needs.
• Manage and drive strategic vendor engagement and deliveries.

Minimum Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
• Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.
• Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
• Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
• Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
• Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of server systems, CPUs and or SoC, or memory and/or HDD or Flash, or GPU.
• Hardware Systems Design experience.
• Experience in hardware project life cycle management.
• Experience with data center architecture and deployment.
• Experience working with ODM's and other vendors.
• Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience.
