The Role
TITLE: Technical Program Manager III
Duties: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to organize software/technical project timelines, secure commitments, manage risks, identify critical paths, identify edge cases, review metrics and data and monitor technical operations. Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems. Distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical stakeholders. Prepare communications and make presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives. Articulate technical decisions and recommend supporting software/applications necessary to support them. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities in electronic data processing, information systems, system analysis, and computer programming. Evaluate new applications and identify system requirements. Analyze technical designs, organize project timelines, and monitor launch operations for large software projects. Act as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Lead planning, execution, and delivery of computer and information system projects across multiple global teams. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and ensure deliver of multiple high impact software development initiatives, using data to assess their impact. Apply solid understanding of software development methods including CI/CD, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc. Teleworking Permitted.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
SALARY: $205,733-$220,000 per year
LOCATION: Motor Trend Group, LLC, 831 S Douglas St. El Segundo, CA 90245
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Sr. Tech Project Manager, IT Merchandise Manager, Sr. IT Consultant, Computer Systems Analyst, or closely related occupation. Also requires at least 3 years of experience in the following:
- JIRA, Confluence and Smartsheet;
- Google or Microsoft Suite of software products;
- Software development and deployment management life cycle;
- Software development methods such as CI/CD or Waterfall; and
- Using data and key performance indicators for performing assessment
