Working under general supervision of the VP of Engineering, the Technical Project Assistant will work with the Senior Managers and rest of the Engineering team on various technical engineering support, administrative, purchasing, invoice processing & record keeping tasks. Employees in this position may interact with their leader as needed to receive guidance and feedback but will use good judgement and have discretion to execute on job responsibilities. Some non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setup supplier accounts and verify insurance including any other documentation required by Kings Hawaiian prior to engaging in business.
- Issuing P.O.s for the capital projects.
- Expediting equipment and parts on behalf of engineering team.
- Provide technical engineering support as it relates to factory acceptance testing, equipment startup and commissioning, etc.
- Assisting engineering team with equipment evaluation, analyzing equipment performance and preparing reports.
- Checking the quantity & accuracy of orders when received.
- Entering & processing invoices for capital purchases.
- Working with engineers to arrange storage for equipment and parts that are not ready for installation.
- Internal accounting and recordkeeping of capital expenditure.
- Reporting of current Capex expenditure status within and outside engineering department.
- Working with project engineers to ensure projects are closed & capitalized in a timely manner.
- Planning vendor screening, approvals and key performance metrics.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- Associates degree from an accredited college or equivalent relevant experience required.
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering support role where industrial purchasing is required.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred.
- Working knowledge of equipment installations, repair and troubleshooting concepts.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of software required.
- Able to work with a team of technical staff.
- Basic understanding of capital spending.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and process engineering concepts along with project lifecycle knowledge
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Excel.
