Technical Project Manager
Job Description
Geode is undergoing rapid growth of its technology team and is looking for highly motivated individuals to be a part of our exciting future. We are reengineering and redeveloping our suite of custom in-house software to meet our current and future needs, and to utilize the latest technology to support our growing business for many years to come. As Technical Project Manager, you will become an essential part of our Technology group and will have the opportunity to learn and participate fully in these efforts. We have a lot of work to do and are looking for people who are driven and committed to doing high quality work.
Responsibilities:
- As a Technical Project Manager/ Scrum master you’ll assist through all phases of project from Initiation to closure.
- Create and maintain Project Charter, Risk management plan, RACI Matrix and any other necessary documentation required per Geode Project management framework.
- Monitor metrics, administer the agile analytics, and communicate KPIs with higher management
- Coordinate all aspects of the development cycle including requirements gathering, design reviews, implementation, quality assurance, user testing, and business signoffs.
- Work with Business analysts to prepare and maintain project backlog.
- Anticipate and remove impediments that would prevent the teams from achieving their sprint and release objectives
- Proactively manage sprint-level risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies and ensure that they are identified, coordinated, mitigated, or escalated as necessary
- Perform miscellaneous support tasks as needed throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle
- Mediate conflicts and nurture environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration
- Setup development workflow on agile tools like Gitlab, Jira and Confluence
- Communicate and manage expectations on projects progress to all stakeholders
- Contribute to building a culture where continuous improvement of the agile process is in focus
- Provide creative, out of the box solutions to solve challenging problems
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of overall Technical Project Management/Scrum Master experience, driving successful projects to completion.
- 3+ years of experience on managing large projects including 3rd party tools with a team of In-house engineers and external consultants.
- 3+ years of experience managing projects using various Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Scrum Less and traditional software development methodology.
- Working experience of using collaboration tools like Gitlab, Jira and Confluence
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical major
- Understanding of programming languages and object-oriented concepts
- Understanding of relational databases, with emphasis on SQL server, data loading mechanisms and reporting
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative, seeing problems through to final completion
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Nice to Haves:
- Experience of managing ETL applications and data integration pipelines.
- Understanding of API’s, Business Intelligence, and reporting tools.
