Role Overview
The Technical Project Manager will be a key player in ensuring the success of our Product and Engineering roadmap. This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and communications to all levels of the org; product, project, business, and engineering will be critical. The TPM will be looked to as a servant-leader within their team, helping to identify gaps, remove roadblocks and impediments for the team, and hold all members accountable for a quality delivery.Â
Responsibilities
- Define clear project objectives, key milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Monitor, communicate, and nurture the overall health of your team. While this role is not a direct people manager, it will work with team members and leadership to help alleviate pain points.
- Lead project delivery from concept to completion by collaborating with engineering, product, development, and quality assurance teams. Ensure detailed project plans are developed and followed and project deliverables meet quality standards, stakeholder expectations, and are delivered within the expected budget/timeframe.
- Lead team agile ceremonies (daily scrum/standups, refinement , retrospective, and sprint review/planning meetings).Â
- Collaborate with other TPMs to understand cross-team dependencies and prioritize the work to avoid impediments.
- Monitor project progress and effectively communicate project status including accomplishments, risks, issues, concerns, and return to green plans.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by conducting post-project evaluations and implementing lessons learned. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and tools in project management.
Ideal Profile
- 3-5 years of experience managing technical projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, developing, and implementing project plans and delivery commitments
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Have in-depth experience with both Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
- Experienced in multiple full lifecycle software deliveries from business development to final software acceptance
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work under tight timetables and/or high-pressure situations
- Experience with enterprise level tools including Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence), GSuite, Okta, AWS
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including detailing and explaining technical issues
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset and excels as a self-starter, consistently taking initiative and driving projects forward
- High EQ, comfort with ambiguity, and a “no job too small” startup mentality
- Experience with higher education institutions or consulting firms is a plus
- Industry certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CAPM, or CSM) strongly preferred
Target base compensation amount for this role outlined below. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts shown below.
$90,000—$105,000 USD
