Technical Project Manager

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager at Haystack, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various projects from initiation to completion, with a focus on software product development and web development. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of successfully delivering digital projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Execute and manage projects according to the project plan, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and prioritize backlog items in collaboration with the product owner and development team.
- Conduct sprint planning sessions, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of sprint goals and commitments.
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to foster collaboration, identify obstacles, and drive continuous improvement.
- Utilize Jira or similar project management tools to track project progress, manage tasks, and monitor team performance.
- Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles and practices, including iterative development, frequent deliveries, and customer collaboration
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines, scope, or budget.
- Enforce quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality software solutions.
2. Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, including software engineers, web developers, designers, and QA testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring clarity on project goals and expectations.
3. Stakeholder Communication:
- Effectively communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the software development or IT industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience in a related role such as Project Management, Account Management, Business Analysis, or Program Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Razor-sharp problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skill and attention to detail.
- Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities.
