Technical Project Manager

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Technical Project Manager to join our Production Engineering team.

The Production Engineering division is responsible for providing innovative processes and tools for the operation of Tower’s high-frequency trading platforms.

 Responsibilities:

• Managing the scope of software-driven projects within Development, Pre-Production, and Production teams
• Coordinating and controlling the execution of other support groups' tasks during release activities
• Planning and coordinating activities for physical work in a data center (physical hardware and network installations) as well as application layer and general concepts for network/server configurations
• Manage overall technical project schedules by developing and tracking project objectives, project milestones, resources, and timelines
• Generate and maintain accurate project documentation (spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps) and project plans (MS Project/JIRA/Confluence/Visio, etc.)
• Providing services, where necessary, to help product and project teams manage and deploy releases into production
• Managing risks and resolving issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
• Leading and coordinating the Go-Live activities including release reviews, pre-deployment meetings, and checklist reviews
• Acting as a liaison between all technology departments, understanding requirements, and influencing new standards and processes
• Participating in release, project, and program retrospectives as well as providing detail on inefficiencies, mistakes, successes, and proposed improvements
• Generating and maintaining accurate project documentation and project plans (MS Project/JIRA/Confluence)
• Engaging in internal and external meetings to gather project requirements and preparing detailed summaries to share with the engineering, operations, and trading teams

Qualifications:

• At Least 4-5 years experience in a Project Management role
• Project management certification like PMP or Prince preferred 
• Knowledge of Infrastructure (server, storage platforms) and Networking concepts, AWS/Azure or other cloud platforms
• Server and Linux skills preferable
• Knowledge about financial and/or crypto markets 
• Knowledge of Data Center/ Colocation design , buildout, migration a plus
• Knowledge of C++, Java, git/gerrit is a plus
• Experience with databases, Kibana and ElasticSearch a plus
• Knowledge of a scripting language (Shell or Python) a plus

• Able to learn quickly and assume new responsibilities as the firm’s priorities change
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work both individually and with a team
