Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in cross-functional Integrated Design Team (IDT). Supports the development and successful release of evolutionary and revolutionary new products and configurable product offerings into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) within the semiconductor capital equipment industry.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational tasks to ensure the successful build, test and shipment of Alpha & Beta builds across multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Leads operational meetings, including daily tool standups. Establishes consistency in processes. Ensures alignment of tactical and/or strategic plans.
  • Manages whiteboard & forward compliance lists for each NPI tool. Drives short-term corrective action of build and test issues to meet production & project milestone dates. Ensures any rework instructions & material disposition decisions are adhered to on follow-on tools until long-term corrective action is implemented.
  • Communicates overall build status, and any issues effecting milestone dates, at daily production meeting.
  • Coordinates with Materials group to release material to NPI line in a timely manner. Ensures parts are available in the right place at the right time during Alpha & Beta builds. Determines impact of key shortages and Engineering Change Order (ECO) cut-ins to milestone dates.
  • Participates in ergonomics & human factors evaluations. Recommends and implements improvements to work area designs. Identifies opportunities for tooling, fixturing and rigging solutions to enable safe and efficient transport of modules, testing of systems, and build and installation of subassemblies.
  • Supports development of high level operational sequences for the build of subassemblies, module integration and final system assembly. Coordinates efforts of Tech Writers to ensure minimal impact to schedule.
  • Actively participates in concept and design reviews. Provides Design for X (DFX) feedback to new product development teams to drive adherence to quality, cycle time, cost and safety goals. Analyzes complex designs to ensure manufacturability, producibility, transportability, and installability.
  • Leads the Managed / Control Build Process. Estimates, then validates, labor hours and cycle times of new products. Identifies gaps, develops mitigation plans to hit targets during HVM. Ensures design and documentation packages are complete and accurate prior to transition to HVM work centers.
  • Identifies Plan for Every Part (PFEP) improvement opportunities; including changes to build / buy strategy, part kitting schemes, and factory routing codes. Coordinates closure with appropriate cross-functional team members. May participate in outsourcing, resourcing or insourcing activities.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities.
  • Experience using Project Management software. Specific experience with Smartsheet a plus.
  • Familiar with MRP systems and function. SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Practical experience with lean continuous improvement a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, operations management or engineering discipline.
  • Other education backgrounds considered with relevant professional experience.

U.S. Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $115,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
