Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for research and clinical markets. Element’s technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting activities through to successful hire with a strong focus on direct, candidate identification and sourcing of talent
- Deliver an engaging candidate experience by uncovering and understanding factors that influence talent, knowing their motivators, and adjusting approach to handle a variety of situations
- Responsible for collaborating with Hiring Managers to build impactful advertising, driving engagement across social media, talent identification, and proactive solicitation of referrals
- Provide training and develop interview guides, scorecards, and other services for Hiring Managers and interview panels
- Proactively provide relevant, market intelligence and recruiting insights to Hiring Managers, People Team, and Leadership demonstrating value as a trusted advisor
- Effectively challenge and influence stakeholders to drive successful and productive activities around screening, candidate slate presentation, interviewing, and hiring decisions
- Accurately represent Total Compensation philosophy when handling offer negotiations
- Coach candidates on how to prepare for selection stages and provide feedback in a timely manner
- Accountable for requisition request process, accurately leading and updating requisitions through to completion including responsibility for ensuring real time system updates
- Identify, raise, and address risk or compliance issues
- Assess and analyze recruitment activity of core business areas (R&D, Engineering, Applications, Operations, and General Administration) to support relevant conversations around budget, performance, and forecast
- In partnership with People Team and Executive Leadership, plan strategies to address workforce-planning needs and other continuous improvement projects
- Drive technology improvements to leverage efficiencies and enhance the recruitment process
- Manage and improve temporary and contract hiring process
- Develop University outreach strategy and implement plan to increase visibility and awareness of company and build pipeline of great talent
- Report on and respond to recruiting related KPIs and metrics to inform the business and to drive recruitment strategies and tactics
- Support Element’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required plus 3-5 years of experience in recruiting or talent acquisition (in-house and agency) dedicated to the life sciences industry
- Ability to work autonomously with an effective sense of urgency and be available to be on-site in the San Diego office regularly
- Experience using recruiting tools such as an applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse and direct sourcing tools and techniques
- Strong understanding of talent competency models, recruiting fundamentals, competitive marketplace awareness and analysis, and social media
- Proven capability in handling concurrent hiring priorities and collaborators at different stages of the recruitment lifecycle without impacting delivery quality and timelines
- Proven history of solving complex problems and delivering significant impact as an individual contributor
- Excellent track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail
- Ability to establish and foster strong relationships with hiring managers and Executive Leadership to support hiring needs that reflect the talent needs of the organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
BASE COMPENSATION PAY RANGE: $120,000 - $130,000
In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
Please Note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
