HYBRID WORK NOTICE: Candidates must reside in the Huntsville, Alabama area, however a hybrid work schedule may be available for qualified candidates.

The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), has a unique opportunity for a Technical Recruiter to join our team as we work to support our company mission to solve problems of national importance. The ASD Technical Recruiter a key member in our strategic initiative to recruit and develop a strong bench of future leaders particularly with our fast-growing Rapid Prototyping Group in Huntsville, Alabama. This critical position will play a vital role at ASD with responsibility in several stages of the recruiting lifecycle including a heavy focus on sourcing, recruiting, and screening applicants for a variety of technical positions, including highly skilled engineers, scientists, technicians, and industrial operation (welders, fabricators, painters, etc.).

  • Routinely partners with hiring teams to assess, plan and effectively meet organizational staffing needs.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to develop or update job specifications for upcoming requisitions and develop engaging job postings which attract qualified candidates.
  • Utilizes ARA's Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to initiate, edit and post job requisitions.
  • Partners with hiring managers and makes recommendations on avenues for advertising.
  • Creates and fosters relationships with colleges, universities, diverse professional organizations, and local community partners to attract and recruit critical skilled candidates, alumni, and diversity applicants.
  • Surfaces candidates and develops networks to ensure constant flow of qualified candidates using web-based tools, agencies and recruiting contractors.
  • Maintains contact with hard-to-find skilled candidates using various communication techniques to keep the candidates interested in the Company.
  • Ensures positive candidate experience from application to hire or decline through strong customer service, quick response times and ensuring up-to-date resources are maintained.
  • Communicates with hiring manager on the status of requisitions, candidate quality and candidate pipeline.
  • Engage and partner with ARA's Dedicated Recruiters across the company and the Corporate Recruiting Specialist.
  • Evaluates employment factors such as job experience, education and training, skills, knowledge and abilities, and other data pertinent to classification, selection, and referral.
  • Conducts and/or participates in interviewing applicants via phone screens or in person interviews.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to develop interview questions which effectively identify desired technical qualifications and behavioral attributes needed for a position.
  • Assists managers with reference checks as needed.
  • Partners with the hiring manager and HR Administrator to develop competitive job offers which align with candidate expectations and ARA budget.
  • Ensures OFCCP compliance throughout the recruiting lifecycle including real-time candidate dispositioning.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of ARA policies and practices and the division's Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).

Technical Recruiter Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 2 - 4 years of experience related to the position
  • Customer service focused with excellent time management skills
  • Proactive and well organized with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Requires the ability to:

    • communicate exceptionally well (both verbal and written)
    • work collaboratively with hiring managers and on an individual basis with minimal supervision
    • remain flexible, pivot, and adapt in the face of setbacks or changes while maintaining a strong sense of priority and purpose
  • Intermediate skill level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

Technical Recruiter Preferences

  • Master's degree
  • Demonstrated Experience recruiting a variety of technical positions, including highly skilled engineers, scientists, technicians, welders, and operators
  • Experience utilizing
    • UKG Pro Recruiting ATS
    • LinkedIn Recruiter

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of OFCCP regulations
