We're making Africa the first cashless continent.

In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

The Talent Team is a lean and effective team of can-doers that are globally distributed. We are looking to hire an experienced and ambitious Tech Recruiter for an initial 6 months - we expect to continue to grow our technical recruitment team over the next 1 year as we scale our teams at Wave.

The ideal candidate is excellent at sourcing, hiring strong technical talent (Engineering, Product, Data, Design) and giving an incredible experience to candidates and hiring stakeholders.

In this role, you'll;

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment for candidates (source, interview, coordinate) across various types of technical roles. 
  • Source, build prospect lists and constantly identify new sourcing strategies.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring objectives, how they work, and develop strategies to hire effectively for their team
  • Support in deepening our culture of experimentation, analytics, and learning on the talent team e.g. ensuring that our ATS (Greenhouse) contains clean, consistent, and accurate data.
  • Proactively flag problems and opportunities for improvement in the recruitment process.
  • Track and analyze metrics as part of optimizing recruitment for your roles and reporting to hiring managers.
  • Develop diverse pipeline strategies and contribute to the design of recruiting processes that result in fair, inclusive, and exceptional candidate experiences.
  • Deeply understand and reflect our values through the hires you make by a) ensuring that candidates experience the culture during the hiring process and b) setting the bar high with the quality of candidates you progress.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of ownership of end-to-end technical processes
  • 3+ years of experience working in-house, with a focus on engineering and product hiring
  • Very strong verbal/written communication and stakeholder management/relationship skills
  • Very strong analytical skills (understands how to build KPIs and can export and handle data in spreadsheets)
