Your Role
The position of Technical Sales Manager seeks out and pursues new high voltage opportunities and aggressively demonstrates to customers that Aptiv should be their partner of choice for all things high voltage.
Summary:
The automotive world is changing with the emergence of electric vehicles and Aptiv is embracing that change by launching a new high voltage business unit pursuit team, called Vehicle Electrification Systems.
VES is focused on the development, pursuit (Active Selling), and winning of high voltage business with targeted customers. Our goal will be to provide technical solutions to customer HV architectures and to do so in an urgent manner out in front of the RFQ. This will include active selling of technology and technical roadshows aimed at influencing architectures to include Aptiv's technology on prints and entry into portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Identify high voltage opportunities, partner with customer teams to pursue, and win new business to enable strong growth over market
- Understand and promote Aptiv high voltage technology plays to maximize the use of Aptiv HV cables, connectors, electrical centers, and cable management products.
- Early customer engagement to identify items to 'excite' by understanding their technology roadmaps and offering technical solutions from Aptiv's product and process portfolio.
- Proactively sell in advance of customer RFQ's. Understand emerging programs well in advance of sourcing activities in order to influence final designs and gain customer 'print position'.
- Create unique selling points and value proposition for the HV portfolio.
- Identify upcoming HV programs and align with CTC team and customer teams for a cohesive, coordinated plan of attack, maximizing Aptiv component penetration.
- Lead customer technical reviews
- Develop VA/VE ideas to demonstrate Aptiv creativity and capability
- Help VES become the best high voltage team on the planet!
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)
- Strong technical acumen with good communications/inter-personal skills
- 'Hunter mentality' to seek out new commercial and technical opportunities
- Deep understanding of Aptiv S&PS product offerings (wiring, connections, etc.)
- Motivated with Passion for achievement and winning
- Team player attitude and ability to lead small cross-functional teams
- Customer presentation and persuasion skills
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Wiring and/or connection system expertise especially with HV applications
- Engineering degree
- Selling HV products to OEMs (connections within customer base)
