The Opportunity:

Global Cloud Operations Team

Nutanix (NTNX) is looking for a seasoned Technical Solutions Architect who will play a critical and hands-on role in driving adoption of "Nutanix on Nutanix" solutions and products internally, with a focus on automation and IaC. With the rapid growth Nutanix is achieving, you'll be our subject matter expert in providing technical expertise in architecting forward thinking design solutions around hybrid cloud infrastructure. You'll have the insight and ability to communicate the technical vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences. As the trusted technical advisor, you'll not only build demos and execute proofs-of-concept (POC) but also provide consultative and execution assistance on architecture for the rest of the team as a whole.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in data center, private/public cloud, and Nutanix native technologies as well as code first methodologies to deploy secure architectures repeatedly, reliably, and at scale. You will be able to evangelize the benefits of adopting Nutanix native architectures as well as champion the best practices that lead to successful outcomes for our internal customers.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for developing and executing the scope and strategy of our cloud native solution for both private cloud and hybrid cloud use cases. You will work with multiple internal technical and engineering groups to develop best practices for using Nutanix products in the public cloud and in the data center. You will lead the execution effort, working with our Global Cloud Operations team in our state-of-the-art data centers as well as in the public cloud to implement "Nutanix on Nutanix" solutions and best practices for all services in scope.

• Build deep relationships with senior technical teams and contributors to learn and then improve upon how they build and migrate hybrid cloud solutions that run at scale using AWS, Azure, GCP, NC2, Nutanix Karbon, AHV, AFS, ERA, Calm, etc.
• Act as a technical liaison between product engineering and other internal teams to support and foster collaboration and communication in creating scalable architecture to meet the needs of our ever-expanding footprint in the datacenter and in the cloud.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the team.
• Author or otherwise contribute to internal-facing publications such as whitepapers, reference architectures, and validated designs.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven track record of architecting, designing, and building Nutanix environments at scale.
• Deep knowledge of automation and orchestration
• Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.
• Proven hands-on work experience with large-scale implementations of AWS and/or Azure/GCP.
• In depth knowledge of python, terraform, ansible, or other high-end coding and cloud orchestration technologies and tools.
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows in a Nutanix environment with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures.
• Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to Nutanix Native solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of overall work experience in IT
• 5+ years architecting and designing solutions for private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions including AWS and/or Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• 3+ years architecting, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes based solutions running on-prem or in the cloud.
• Project experience migrating and deploying cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree(s) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience migrating applications from the enterprise to public cloud providers and vise versa (e.g. Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification or Azure/GCP equivalent.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code and related concepts on private and public clouds.
• Proven experience as a successful senior engineer and/or cloud engineer highly desirable
• Understanding of Agile, SCRUM and Continuous Delivery
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives, and rapidly changing priorities.
• Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for internal teams.

The IT Cloud team is a fully hybrid team working across the globe. When working from home, you will still feel connected to the team through our regular interactions and will have all the support you need. Our HQ is in San Jose, by the airport, so you are more than welcome to use it whenever you want. Each week we have lunch days at the office, which is a great opportunity to connect with people in person.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $140800 - $282000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
