POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Automatrix Technical Specialist is responsible for the assistance in evaluating and deploying new products, processes, and process improvements into the Automatrix manufacturing operation. They are considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area they are working. All aspects of the manufacturing operation they are assigned along with product workflow will be a primary focus of effort including, but not limited to: machine setups, utilization of resources, machine operation, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, recommended equipment design improvements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily technical leadership in the Automatrix Production Room.
• Startup of production equipment.
• Assign production mechanics and operators to machines.
• Lead troubleshooting of down or under-performing equipment.
• Modify machine components as needed in support of operations, may include sharpening die assembly, or fitting of other precision components.
• Recommend equipment design improvements.
• Support weekend production needs.
• Lead training of production mechanics, including continued hands-on technical development.
• Recommend improvements to training curriculum and standard work in the band room.
• Maintains up-to-date training compliance via LMS;
• Performs other duties as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience with precision tooling, including measurement, fitting of components, and precise modifications, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with custom equipment operation and troubleshooting, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with PLC and pneumatic systems operation and troubleshooting, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Capable of creating drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications.
• Self-starter with enthusiasm and ability to work in a team environment.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology or similar discipline or an equivalent combined education and work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• On the plant floor most of the day
• Standing greater than 4 hours at a time.
• Frequently reaching during the day.
• Infrequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Limited temperature fluctuations, air condition environment
• Exposure to general manufacturing environment
