About the Team

The position is within the Performance, Resiliency, and Scalability group and is ideally suited to candidates from a performance engineering or development background with a keen focus on customer success. Our team has a wide remit, from debugging and recreating specific customer issues, to using the latest data modeling techniques in order to extract measurable data and model future capacity and scalability needs. Our team of highly skilled engineers debug, measure, analyze, and improve our software. We are generalists with a deep technical understanding of software, hardware, networking, observability and the Internet. We enjoy taking a comprehensive view of sophisticated systems. We are developers, analysts, engineers, testers, product managers and data scientists.

About the Role

As a member of the Technical Strategy Management Team you will have the opportunity to drive and influence performance enhancements, platform resiliency initiatives, and key feature scaling across Workday. This role will be responsible for driving analysis efforts in a complex landscape and focused outreach and partnership with Workday development teams to optimize based on our findings.

In this role, you would:

• Collaborate with Workday's customers, developers, infrastructure, operations, pro-services, and support to address performance, resiliency, and scalability challenges
• Constantly build out your network across Workday to advocate for performance testing and shifting left on everything Workday builds
• Define roadmaps, objectives and success measures for key services we offer
• Partner with our seasoned full-stack engineers to drive innovation and deliver on those targets
• Influence the application of Data Science and implementation of Intelligence into our technology platform to improve automation and optimize runtime performance
• Guide service requirements based on Data Driven decisions
• Participate in customer-facing situations and user conferences
• Strategically represent our org though your agency to bridge teams and technologies; bring your opinions to motivate change!

About You

Basic Qualifications

For Technical Strategy Manager

• 3+ years of strategy management, product management, or relevant experience (development, data science, DevOps, technical operations / support)
• 2+ years of product owner experience or working closely with product leaders to translate customer and market needs into products and release support through the entire product life cycle
• 1+ year of SaaS software and complex distributed system experience

For Senior Technical Strategy Manager

• 5+ years of strategy management, product management, or relevant experience (development, data science, DevOps, technical operations/support)
• 4+ years of product owner experience or working closely with product leaders to translate customer and market needs into products and release support through the entire product life cycle
• 3+ years of SaaS software and complex distributed system experience
• Experience with performance testing

Other Qualifications

• Experience with agile methodology,
• Experience with service & micro-service architectures and observability technologies
• Experience with performant and resilient processing at extensive scale with data analysis technologies
• Solid understanding of operations of complex systems in private, public, and hybrid data center
• Experience with making data driven decisions
• Ability to clearly articulate product requirements and prioritize enhancement requests
• Ability to successfully influence external teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to change
• Experience as a developer
• Experience with oCFO applications and performance testing
