Technical Support Engineer
Role:
As a Technical Support Engineer, you are an essential team member willing to help serve our customers analyze concerns, review optimal solutions based on our portfolio, and help guide our customers towards a positive technical experience in EPLAN solutions. The Technical Support Engineer will also look to share best practices and lessons learned through multiple channels. You will also interact with sales engineers and product specialists from our 2nd level team to solve complex problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide product support to EPLAN customers with technical issues.
- Document all support cases in the EPLAN Solution Center.
- Share your knowledge with colleagues and customers on the EPLAN Knowledge Center.
- Liaise with EPLAN Second Level Support.
- Maintain adequate level of knowledge on EPLAN products and stay up to date.
- Assist technical and sales colleagues as necessary.
- Identify sales opportunities while delivering support.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering background with 1 - 2+ years of working experience ideally in the engineering / automation technology or software industry.
- Preferred experience within a technical hotline or customer facing role.
- Knowledge of using CAE/CAD tools for electrical and or hydraulic/pneumatic system design.
- IT and application skills, including network solutions, Windows Server, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office solutions.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen with ability to influence at the various levels of the organization.
- Strong team worker with interfaces to regional sales and other technical departments.
- Willingness to provide stand by service occasionally on weekends.
Additional Information:
We will not sponsor applicants for work visas. Applicants must be authorized to work on an unrestricted basis. Hours: M-F. Must reside within an EPLAN location (Farmington Hills, MI or Schaumburg, IL areas).
