The Red Hat Experience Engineering (XE) team is looking for a Technical Support Engineer intern to join the team in Raleigh to support XE's mission to amplify the value of Red Hat solutions by delivering an exceptional experience throughout the user journey. In this role, you will partner with, advise, and support enterprise customers by demonstrating the value of Red Hat's products and solutions to meet their business needs. As a Technical Support Engineer intern, you will learn about our products and work with Red Hatters to support our customers across the globe.

What you will do

• Learn how our products work from a customer perspective
• Learn to administer our products in enterprise environments
• Provide technical support to our enterprise customers
• Troubleshoot our products to diagnose customer issues
• Collaborate with other associates to develop solutions for customers
• Document customer cases clearly and concisely
• Keep customers updated on case status and participate in case review calls
• Contribute to Red Hat's knowledgebase to share solutions and recommended practices

What you will bring

• Prior customer service or technical support experience
• Prior Linux administration experience
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

The following is considered a plus:

• Prior experience supporting Linux or UNIX in enterprise environments
• Prior experience working with the Linux kernel and networking
• Scripting or programming experience
• Interest in obtaining a Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
• Experience with the Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) methodology
