Position Summary:
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for installations and modifications to the Company's computer hardware and software systems; making repairs as needed. This position will also provide technical advice and support to system users.
What You'll Do:
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
- Responds in a timely manner to all user request for technical support
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software
- Maintain record of user interactions and technical support issues via Help Desk ticketing system
- Conduct research and diagnostics, research problems and confer with users to investigate and resolve issues, providing technical support both in person and remotely
- Evaluate software and hardware, recommending improvements or upgrades as necessary
Requirements
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree, equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
Preferred Skills:
- Must possess strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to perform basic software troubleshooting in Windows 10, 11, macOS, iOS and Android
- Able to perform basic hardware troubleshooting for desktop and laptop computers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to install of standard desktop hardware (monitors, docking station, printer, keyboard/mouse)
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting of printers, scanners, copiers, and other peripherals
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Basic understanding of computer imaging
- Basic understanding of VoIP phone systems is a plus, but not required
- Basic networking: TCP/IPv4, DHCP and DNS is a plus, but not required
- Basic knowledge of Office 365 & Azure Active Directory is a plus, but not required
