This position reports to the Technical Support Center Manager. It is responsible for providing Technical Support to internal and external customers by solving complex technical issues and answering usage questions regarding BD proprietary software. The person in this role is vital in managing, resolving, and facilitating resolution for BD Alarisยฎ server and interoperability technologies.

Required Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of current Microsoft Windows operating systems and related technologies (3+ years)

  • Windows 10/ Windows Server 2016-2022
  • Server administration, including Active Directory/LDAP and server certificates
  • MS SQL Server 2016-2022
  • Demonstrated ability to write advanced queries and troubleshoot/analyze SQL server and database structures
  • MS SQL Reporting Services
  • Microsoft IIS and Web Applications
  • Networking, Firewall Management, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, TCP/IP (3+ years)
  • VMware experience or exposure (3+ years)

Ability to use and interpret results from various troubleshooting tools, including but not limited to:

  • Application and OS event logs
  • Performance Monitor and Counters
  • Wireshark

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical problems to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Succinct documentation of processes and resolution steps for case and knowledge management.
  • Superior time management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority issues simultaneously, meet commitments and provide timely responses.
  • Strong personal commitment to quality, customer service, and patient safety.
  • Works well in a remote team environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues and high-pressure critical situations.

Education:

  • The ideal candidate is a college graduate with a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Pharmacy or nursing experience is a plus.

CompTIA A+ Required

  • Additional Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, MCTS, MCSE

Other Requirements:

  • Existing Department of Defense clearance or ability to participate in the required background check. Please note that clearance requirements do not allow dual citizenship.
