Technical System Engineer

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The AQuA Support team is responsible for being the first line of defense when it comes to technical issues in Cisco's cloud-based service revenue generation platform AutoQuote. We work in collaboration with other multi-functional teams to deliver digital, innovative business solutions at scale. You will work closely with other team members to provide research, technical insight, workflow analysis and error resolution. This role is responsible for anticipating the upcoming needs of the platform and design plans to ensure the ongoing success of our application.
OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze, improve, and understand the workings of a Cloud Native Automated Quoting engine and become a technical guide to the team to ensure efficient performance
• Handle a variety of technical support problems-from simple application or network configuration fixes to very sophisticated problem solving and problem resolution.
• Participate in the effort of crafting the architecture and design of AutoQuote solutions by actively helping the team in choosing the right technology, methodology and solving technical problems.
• Examine existing systems, identifying flaws, and crafting solutions to improve service uptime and time-to-resolve through monitoring and automated remediation
• Fix and resolve issues related to the cloud services; implement long term fixes and automation to avoid repeat failures in the future.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS degree in Computer Information Systems or related technical field involving information systems
• Knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, GCP and/or Azure cloud.
• Knowledge of micro-services and containers (Docker, Heroku)
• Knowledge of python and python rest frameworks
• Keen problem solver, ability to process sophisticated problems and devise solutions using critical thinking skills
• Experience with API specifications, development, and architectures a comfortable maintaining similar environments
• Experience with rapid development cycles in a web-based environment
• Strong scripting and test automation abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with database processing platforms: Snowflake or Prefect
• Experience crafting interactive applications and networking platforms
• Web application development experience with multiple frameworks
• Experience in an Agile/ Scrum based environment
• Desire to continue to grow professional capabilities with ongoing training and educational opportunities
