Join us as a Technical Systems Analyst / Scrum Master

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Technical Systems Analyst / Scrum Master to join our Fund Accounting Systems. In this role you will work as part of a dynamic technical team responsible for the delivery of strategic enhancements to support our growing business, to include writing and managing project tasks, test automation, ensuring continuous integration and delivery. This position works closely with business/product SMEs, architects, and application developers to conceptualize, develop and implement solutions. This position is also responsible for exercising Scrum/Agile best practices as a coach to the development team, keeping all parties on track and informed, hosting daily meetings and assisting the Product Owner with the backlog. Self-motivated individual in a hybrid Technical/Scrum master role that can motivate a team of people to remain focused and on-task.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Engage/ Collaborate with developers, analysts, business partners, other systems areas to deliver solutions, build/execute on strategic and tactical projects, improve on existing concepts or products, and create new ideas for improving the product suite.
  • Manage the existing suite of applications across a variety of technical stacks.
  • Identify and manage project risks
  • Help define and maintain project roadmap, manage release plan and development priorities accordingly
  • Facilitate collection of new business requirements and provide effort estimation for upcoming initiatives
  • Maintain project tools and documentation traceability (tasks, delivery plan, scope changes, etc.)
  • Work with business analysts, technical leaders, developers, architects, test leads to provide efficient solutions which meet business needs.
  • Ensure SDLC methodology is followed for the project in accordance with company best practices and guidelines
  • Help with management/guidance of junior team members.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems application development, including technical experience in the design and development of software
  • Experience with the scrum master role with a development team - at least 2 years of hands-on experience (above and beyond coaching)
  • Agile development experience and SCRUM certification are pluses
  • Manage a distributed team of developers and testers - at least 3 years
  • Strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC
  • Ability to independently manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to handle multiple project streams within the team
  • Provides project and release status to stakeholders
  • Manage timelines for Development, QA, UAT, and Production release.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
  • Problem solving skills, able to identify and address upcoming risks & issues
  • Strong Financial services industry knowledge
  • Fluent English and good communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with databases (Oracle).
  • Understanding of basic principles of data modeling.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $ 140,000 Jersey City, NJ

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
