Technical Team Lead - Casino and Sports Affiliation Products

While this is a remote position and we can hire across Europe, candidates in Portugal or Malta are preferred.

We are seeking an accomplished Technical Team Lead to spearhead our development team

working on WordPress casino and sports affiliation products. The chosen candidate will lead a

talented scrum team, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions in the Japanese and

European markets. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in technologies such as

React, PHP, WordPress, Git, testing methodologies, and have a proven track record in

managing tech stack migrations and resolving technical debt.

As a Technical Team Lead you are expected to:

• Code and deliver high-quality software.

• Identify the causes for the most complex issues and implement practical and efficient

technical solutions.

• Implement both backend and front-end features.

• Coordinate with UX/UI designers, developers and test engineers in an Agile

environment.

• Perform impact assessment of features and defects with Product Owner.

• Share and implement ideas, best practices, and processes towards the improvement

of the products and the business.

• Abide by industry and company software development standards.

• Provide support and guidance to team members.

• Understand the big picture and offer insightful advice about technologies and

projects.

• Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management.

Technical Expertise

• Possess a strong background in WordPress development, PHP, and React.

• Hands-on experience with Git for version control and code collaboration.

• Good understanding of testing methodologies such as unit tests.

• You are able to setup and lead tech stack migration processes for products .

Issue Resolution and Tech Debt Management

• Identify and address technical debt, providing solutions for its resolution.

• Collaborate with other teams, including DevOps, to resolve cross-functional technical issues.

• Work closely with the team to implement best practices and improve code quality.

Requirements:

Must Have

• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript/Typescript.

• Good knowledge of PHP and wordpress as a technology.

• Worked with modern frameworks (such as React/Vue/Angular/Next).

• Experience with working with and maintaining database structures (MariaDB/MySQL).

• Experience with git, tests and other tooling.

• Tech degree or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).

• knowledge of databases and data queries.

• Deep knowledge of coding languages.

• Extensive understanding of the software development life-cycle.

• Passionate about self-improvement and web technologies.

• Strong English communication skills (written & verbal).

• Ability to address change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways.

• Ability to learn and transmit knowledge on new software and technologies.

• Ability to mentor and coach others.

• Available to work +/- 2 CET.

• Understand Headless technologies such as wordpress Rest API and NextJS.

• Deployment, serverless and edge.
