Technical Trainer II - System Operations & Commissioning

Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We’ve partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.
We are seeking a Technical trainer to be a part of our Learning & Technical Documentation (LTD) team. You will be responsible for delivering a range of blended technical training programs applicable to our unique technology, either in-house or on-site. You must have industrial electro/mechanical automation and OSHA safety experience, effective program management skills and a good understanding of ADDIE training model. You must build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to keep yourself up-to-date on product features & functionalities. You will also work closely with the LTD Lead to research, plan and implement training programs that meet current and future needs of the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:Â
- Collaborate with engineering, IT infrastructure, operations & service teams to deliver training and certification programs meant for Automated Market Fulfillment Center system operators & system commissioning technicians.
- Responsible for successful implementation of train-the-trainer model.
- Assign E-learning courses, organize & deliver hands-on training sessions.
- Effective use of Learning Management System to track course completions and certify trainees.
- Manage assigned activities including training execution, evaluation, feedback to Instructional Designers and effective resolution of training challenges.
- Responsible for the ongoing management of Technical Training resources, training equipment and training delivery processes.
- Collect data & feedback to support Technical Training metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to demonstrate effective use of resources, high utilization factors and overall training effectiveness. Create and share reports on the effectiveness of training programs.
- Capture field related information to share with respective product teams for enhancing product reliability.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 4 to 8 years of experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Technical training programs, preferably with a focus on ADDIE process, Industrial Automation, Market Fulfillment Operations and OSHA Worker Safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical Education, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering technical training on complex engineering systems.
- Significant experience in highly technical environments with electro-mechanical systems, automation, advanced software, and industrial automation concepts.
- Exceptional communication and training delivery skills.
- Expert level knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements applicable to Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Energy Control, Confined Space Safety, Construction Safety and Material Handling.
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills necessary to independently anticipate, analyze, advise, recommend, and implement solutions to complex issues.
- Experience operating in a diverse group of technical professionals, resolving issues effectively, and partnering with staff on diverse projects and programs.
- Working knowledge of modern training techniques and tools.
- Working knowledge of Instructional design concepts.
PLYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift and move tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrist.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head while on-site.
- Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Ability to work in all environments (Ambient, Chilled and Frozen) and confined spaces using approved PPE.
