Technical Writer

What You'll Do:

We are looking for great writers with strong technical proficiencies to help our users succeed with our rapidly evolving suite of tools and content. As our Technical Writer, you will consult with product, engineering, and subject matter experts to prepare developer and end user documentation for software, systems engineering, data documentation, data delivery, and tutorials. This role will function as a primary writer-responsible for deliverables of substantial scope and complexity:

• Collaborate with various internal teams across multiple programs to identify documentation needs.
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of a documentation plan.
• Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product and system functionality, as well as data offerings.
• Independently write, review, revise, and maintain documentation for technical and non-technical users.
• Plan, schedule, and track documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables.
• Maintain a library of documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.
• Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others ensuring a consistent "look and feel."
• Help developers and other members of the community who have documentation-related questions.

About You:

You're a good fit for the role of Technical Writer if you have/are:

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Technical Writing, English or Computer Science.
• 3-5 years of hands-on technical writing experience, within an IT development environment.
• Experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skill.
• General familiarity and ability to read one or more coding languages.
• Technical expertise and ability to understand complex systems.
• Experience producing documentation for a variety of products and services, including but not limited to technical programming guides, developer documentation, end user documentation and tutorials.
• Experience writing data documentation is a plus.
• Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment is required.
• Experience with remote work, especially in collaboration with other time zones is a plus.
• Ability to accomplish objectives that span multiple product or subject areas using proactive and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while navigating ambiguity.
• Writing samples are required.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
