Technical Writer

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from a multitude of vantage points. As organizations rely more on cloud services and the internet, the network has become a black box they can't understand. Our internet and cloud intelligence platform delivers the only collectively powered view of the internet, cloud and SaaS platforms, helping enterprises and service providers work together to identify problems before they impact revenue, damage brand reputation, or halt employee efficiency.

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group, and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

The Customer Engineering team at ThousandEyes is responsible for providing technical support, implementation services, technical adoption, and outage monitoring. We are looking for a technical writer who enjoys learning about complex technical concepts, and can effectively articulate those concepts to people with a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels. This role is ideal for a person who gets up to speed quickly, has the reflex to prioritize ideas, and pursues information proactively.

• Gather information from disparate sources, including your own testing of product features.
• Use outstanding writing skills to conceptualize, plan, develop, and write high-quality documentation about features, outages, and service offerings.
• Drive innovation and experiment with content formats, information architecture, and rich media to drive customer self-service.
• Find opportunities to improve quality, usability, and efficiency for both customers and internal team members.
• Collaborate with the ThousandEyes Technical Documentation team to ensure documentation accuracy and make sure we're aligned.

• Learn new concepts quickly and can pass that learning along to others in words and images.
• Notice the finer details of things, and take initiative to fix them if they're not right.
